Premise:

After the loss of her younger brother, Mateo, Detective Veronica Cruz returns to police work. Unbeknownst to everyone, Veronica is secretly drowning herself in alcohol to numb the guilt and loss of her brother. However, she soon receives a missing person’s case with the disappearance of high school student, Melodie Baptiste.

As Veronica starts her investigation she begins to realize that Melodie didn’t just disappear, but is in danger from the same thing which took her brother away from her: domestic violence. Desperate to save another from the same fate, Veronica rushes to try to find Melodie while experiencing hallucinations of Mateo—who still haunts every move she makes. Now facing a drinking problem and immense guilt, Veronica will have to fight her demons to successfully bring a missing child home and maybe even redeem herself in the process.
